What is your role at G&M?

I started in G&M's subsidiary company Glasgow Radiators when I was 18, where I worked for 10 years.

I was involved in all aspects of radiator repair for various clients.
Now I've been in G&M Radiator for two years doing the paintwork for radiators, ensuring they are treated and finished to a high quality. When I'm not busy painting I help out where I can with things such as gasket manufacturing, radiator tubing and pipe cutting.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

One of my favourite parts of the job is when I see the finished product for the first time. It's great seeing the result of the team's hard work paying off with a high-quality result. I enjoy knowing I played some part in that.

Secondly I love learning on the job, having been involved in many different roles in the process I've had to learn to adapt my skills throughout the years which has kept me on my toes!

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

I'd love to try being a firefighter, the adrenaline of getting stuck-in during an emergency would be exhilarating.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career at G&M?

If someone asked me if they're right for G&M, I'd tell them they need to be punctual, a team player and ready for problem solving. Lastly, I'd tell them to work hard and it will definitely pay off at G&M.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within G&M, whose job would you want?

I've always wanted to try welding; it would be a new challenge for me to try and develop the skills necessary to do the job.

What is your proudest moment at G&M?

I was really proud when I moved to G&M from Glasgow Radiators, it was a much better fit for me and I loved the fact I was working with a lot more people and the camaraderie that comes with that.

Do you have an office nickname? What is it?

When I first started at Glasgow Radiators I dropped a bung inside a radiator after telling my workmate "It's in safe hands".
So I got the nickname "safe-hands" for a while, it was some time before I managed to shake that off !

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I'm a really active and sporty person which is handy as I cycle 16 miles to work most days! When I was younger I was into boxing and Thai-boxing which lead me to my current hobby: Mixed Martial Arts.
Otherwise I'm pretty happy whenever I'm outdoors, camping, hiking or just going for a run up the hills.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

I can't stand laziness - if something needs done then no point in sitting around.
