Meet the Team | Ryszard Taberski
What is your role at G&M?
I currently work as a part of a team that specialises in renovating cooling sections for large engine radiators. This involves such things as disassembly of the cooling pack, cleaning, organising parts and fitting the new parts with a quality finish.
How long have you been working for G&M ?
I have worked for G&M for 8 years now and enjoy everybody’s company.
What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
It makes me happy that I did my job to the best of my ability.
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
If I could do another job for a day, I would like to be on a space station looking down at the world. I would also check out Australia and see if the people there walk by hand standing!
Before working at G&M, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Previously I used to work in a company that assembled computers. I performed the pre-tests there, which meant I checked to see if everything is working and up to standard before it left the factory. If there was an issue/ error with regards to the computer, I would troubleshoot various parts and see what caused the issue and fix it. This gave me great satisfaction.
What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career at G&M?
My advice would be don’t worry you made the last radiator for today. Tomorrow you will do the next one. But remember to try your best and you’ll never fail.
If you could switch your job with anyone else within G&M, whose job would you want?
I’d love to work in the engineering department. I admire the knowledge and experience of the head of the department.
What is your proudest moment at G&M?
I was proud when I painted a radiator for the first time and after painting it looked nice. Colleagues were impressed at my work, and had a hard time explaining to them that it was my first time!
Do you have an office nickname? What is it?
Sometimes my manager calls me ‘Picasso’
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I currently am furnishing an apartment in a modern style - still a long away to go. I love to watch formula 1 races and TV programs that document beautiful places around the world.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
When I see the most beautiful girl in the world who has just boarded a train that leaves in an unknown location.
Tell us something people would be surprised to learn about you:
I’m very scared of dogs. But my brother’s dog wags it’s tail when it sees me and that’s why I like it.
